The picture above is not of our travelin' hoops buddy. This is Bally's distant cousin Orangey, who retired to Fort Myers a few years back, let himself go, and took a job at a tourist-trap fruit stand near the Minnesota Twins' spring-training camp. What a sell-out. Here are some other snapshots of our soon-to-be-annual Florida swing.

We warmed up for our long Florida trip by visiting the University of Maryland-Baltimore County last Sunday afternoon. This is the Retriever statue out front of the Athletic Center. Did I say warm? Actually, it was cold as ass.

There's nothing like some hott MEAC action, and we saw the defending champion Florida A&M Rattlers in Tallahassee on Monday night. Bally was admitted without a Rattler Card, and did not have to enter through the center doors.

We went across the state to DeLand to check out Stetson , a school that was named after the hat manufacturer. They will, they will Hat you.

They loved Bally so much at Florida Atlantic on Wednesday they gave him a t-shirt. He wondered aloud about America's obesity epidemic when he found out this was a size S.

Downtown Jacksonville was our next stop on Thursday. (Bally made friends with
Dunk'n Dolphin, but we already posted that one.)

All Florida working vacations come to an end, and we made our way back north. Before heading back into the Northeast, we visited our old friends at VCU. Come down from there, Bally, I can't jump that high anymore!
