For this weeks installment in the Mid-Major Baller of the Week we take time to honor a player who stepped up his game in a week that his team so desperately needed it. Ohio forward Maurice Ndour put together his best game and week of the season in Bobcat wins over Central Michigan and Toledo and for that is the 12th Mid-Major Baller of the Week for the TMMX season.
While you were busy watching a thrilling Super(Just kidding #LastMan players), Ndour was celebrating moving Ohio back to the top of the MAC standings. On Wednesday Ndour notched his third double-double of the season scoring 21 points to go along with 11 boards as the Bobcats just scraped by the bottom dwelling Chips of Central Michigan. Winning by four at home against a winless conference squad couldn't have inspired confidence from the Bobcat faithful as they prepared to face Toledo, but Ndour came through again. Against the Rockets, Ndour put together a fine performance across the stat sheet- 28 points on 11 of 16 shooting, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals and 2 assists without a turnover. That was just enough to put the Bobcats past the Rockets in OT 95-90.
The Ohio win has set up for some interesting #MACTION in the second half of the season. Toledo, Ohio and Akron all sit at 6-2 while Buffalo, Western Michigan and Miami lay in wait a game behind. The tempo free aerial
for the MAC shows just how close this race could be. The Zips, Bulls, Rockets and Bobcats are virtually tied in point differential (per possession) which should lead to more great games down the stretch and a heck of a tournament in Cleveland next month.
