Conference season means a new start and some more consistent Game! Of! The! Nights!
Let's get he party started with some A-10 action with Saint Louis visiting Rhode Island.
The Billikens were pretty dang good last year and (BREAKING!) are pretty good this year. SLU is 13-2 with close losses to Wisconsin and Wichita State. Much like last year it's all about the D for the Billikens, who only allow a stifling 0.847 points per trip. The key to the defense is never allowing 3-pointers (26% field goal % allowed) and creating turnovers in bunches (over 15 per game). In fact almost a quarter of opponent possessions end with them giving the ball up (23%).
Rhode Island comes into the game with a fairly pedestrian 9-7 record, but that's already more victories than the team had last year (8) or the year before (7). The Rams look to be a long shot, but have had the SLU's number, taking the last five games in the series going back to the 2010 A-10 tourney. Could they make it six in a row in the G!O!T!N!?
