Bullet Points
- Congratulations to Northern Colorado, who just needed seven years to go from new Division I independent to the NCAA tournament as members of the Big Sky -- the Bears overcame the conference champions from Montana for the title. Back east, Long Island won the Northeast Conference championship in an overtime thriller against two-time defending champs Robert Morris.
- Like the two title games, most action went according to seed. But minor upsets on Day 9 included No. 10 Rice topping No. 7 SMU in the C-USA first round. In the Southland quarterfinals, No. 7 Texas-San Antonio were down by 14 points late in their tilt with No. 2 Northwestern State, but came back to win. WAC eighth seed San Jose State ended No. 5 Hawaii's season.
- On this tenth day of Championship Fortnight, no championship games. But there are plenty of eliminators. The Big West, Conference USA and the MAC hold full quarterfinal slates. The WAC moves on to a second round. And the Great West bracket gets going in Orem, Utah, with a lesser tournament berth on the line.
