VMI Ends Winthrop's Season With 78-73 Big South Tournament Victory - Winthrop's season came to an end in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Big South Conference Tournament as the Eagles fell to VMI 78-73 despite getting double-double performances from Charles Corbin and George Valentine. The Eagles close out the season with a 13-17 record while VMI, which won two games over Winthrop in the last four days, improves to 18-12 and will now face regular season champion Coastal Carolina in the second semi-final game on Thursday night in Conway, SC.

Dickey Leads Bulldogs Past Charleston Southern 72-63; Face High Point on Thursday - Matt Dickey scored a career-high 29 points to lead third-seeded UNC Asheville to a 72-63 Advance Auto Parts Big South Conference Tournament quarterfinal victory over sixth-seeded Charleston Southern Tuesday night before a close to sell-out crowd of 1,015 at Justice Center. The victory propelled the Bulldogs (17-13) to the semifinals of the tournament for the fifth straight year. Asheville will face seventh-seeded High Point, a 66-60 upset winner over second-seeded Liberty, in Thursday night's semifinals at Coastal Carolina starting at 6 p.m.

Shine's 26 lead Panthers to playoff win over Liberty - Junior guard Shay Shine (Arcadia, Fla./Arcadia (Iowa Western)) scored eight points in a row to put the High Point University men's basketball team in the lead for good as the Panthers upset Liberty, 66-60, in the quarterfinals of the Big South Tournament on Tuesday night at the Vines Center in Lynchburg, Va. Shine led all scorers with 26 points.
