  • The calendar says March 1. Repeat: March 1. Elimination games begin this evening on the first day of Championship Fortnight. For the fourth straight year, we will be providing daily updates to the tourney brackets, an avalanche of Basketball State information, and links to resources from the competing schools' sports information departments.
  • The Big South and Horizon League will begin play with opening rounds at campus sites. In years past, there would be three leagues going on Day 1, but the Ohio Valley has moved to a double-bye system for its top two seeds and will begin Wednesday.
  • There are eight elimination games tonight.
