I'm not even sure how it happens anymore. Every so often, something like a perfectly normal mid-December guarantee game in a Big Ten arena can be transformed into something bigger, greater, grander. On a Monday night in Evanston, Illinois, the juice was -- how shall we say -- loose.



Just a normal, regular game with a regulation sized basketball and a $50,000 check being given to a team from the Northeast Conference for showing up and losing. Perfectly normal.



With a stuffed basketball sitting on press row, as usual. And everyday, normal media time out contests. This kid had to find a pair of shoes on the court whilst blindfolded. (He won.)



Then, in the second half, everything went haywire. Perhaps triggered by the presence of Northwestern guard Michael "Juice" Thompson, the topic switched from basketball to juice.
