HOUSTON -- We're heading into the second weekend. Are there any people left still playing that office pool bracket stuff anymore? I think everybody's entries are busted, because I haven't heard people talking about it for days. But for our nine brave As-You-Goers, their brackets are totally, 100 percent perfect. They
didn't fill them out ahead of time, and are having more fun than anyone this March!
And they're all competing for your love, because you'll be voting on which one you think is best once Season 6 is over (as defined by when all five of our remaining teams are eliminated). Remember, this is a high stakes game. The winner gets roundtrip airfare for two and double-occupancy accommodations at TMM HQ, the
Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Airport, for the big Season 7 Symposium this summer!
OK, bracketeers. Some of you submitted a picture of your updated bracket after the first round. That was my screwup, I didn't specify whether or not to... so if you win, we'll post every round together as one unified whole. But we
must have an Elite Eight bracket before Saturday's regional final games start. Sorry about the quick turnaround, but that's the way it is this weekend. Things move fast.
Here is what they all looked like at the beginning. As before, all entries are listed in order of their original submission, and presented with the artists' comments where applicable. We're presenting just one photo each, as not to give any entry preferential treatment with close ups. But you can click on any of the photos to examine the handiwork.
01. Joshua LeggetteKyle and Bally, We've got five teams! I can't believe there are this many of our teams left on the bracket; makes it much more exciting and colourful than if there were only one team left. Hopefully the Gaels will do well with you in Houston! Here's to a mid-major final four!
02. Matthew MillerWhat a first and second round! This has to be the best tournament ever. Well, there was that George Mason run to the Final Four, but hey, maybe we'll get all four spots this year!
03. Douglass GakingThis really is the year, just not for the 16-1 upset we were hoping for. The Bulldawgs, Panthers, Big Red, Gaels, and Musketeers are all dancing their way into Weekend Two! Here is my updated bracket after two rounds of madness.
04. Kraig WilliamsHere is my sweet 16 updated bracket. Go Cornell! Go Yes Iowa! Go St. Mary's! Go Xavier! Go Butler!
05. Julia PriorSo I might have been impulsive in the second round, the Sub-Red Line teams are in red, and the others are in black. I just wrote them in however the spirit moved me, and you can tell how excited I was about UNI's win over Kansas... You can also tell, I used my bracket as a doodle pad during the games. It's starting to resemble class notes, with random thoughts and works scribbled in the margins.
06. Benjamin AtchinsonBally and Mr. Whelliston, Here is my updated bracket in .pdf form and upside-down (I hate scanners). Let me know if you would prefer a .jpeg. And if you could make it right-side-up, that would be cool too! Thank you for your patience.
07. Michael Dunn and Ian HalpernHere is our most recently updated picture.
08. Garrett WheelerKyle and Bally, I have attached... photos for the sweet 16.
09. Robert CanedoDecided it was time to distinguish the Below the Red Line Teams. Couldn't get abandonded office supplies in the same color scheme as I moved up the bracket to larger Post-Its so... Good guys in White - just like the movies. And let's just call the big spenders chicken and therefore an appropriate color for them.
