Second-Seeded Eagles Welcome #7 JSU Into Johnson Arena - The MSU men finished on a high note with a second consecutive perfect OVC mark at home, 21 regular season wins and a record 15 regular season OVC victories. The Eagles (21-9; 15-3 OVC) now face the task of winning three games in a row, including two away from Johnson Arena to reach their preseason goal of a repeat trip to the NCAA Tournament. Up first is JSU, a team the Eagles swept during the regular season. Demonte Harper, Kenneth Faried and Steve Peterson each had double digit outings versus JSU this year, but it was Maze Stallworth who shined. He had 15 points at Jacksonville, and then had a season-high 26 point performance in the game at MSU. Jacksonville State (11-18; 7-11 OVC) has lost seven of its last eight games, dating back to its previous trip to Morehead. The Gamecocks have also gone through personnel changes since that last meeting. Gone from active duty is OVC leading scorer Trenton Marshall, who has been suspended from the remainder of the season. Marshall had 31 points in the teams' two meetings. The loss of his 17.7 points per game is offset by Nick Murphy and Jeremy Bynum, both quality players. Murphy had 38 points versus MSU this season and Bynum totaled 27.

The Colonels went 4-5 on the road against OVC foes this year including a 77-54 loss at Eastern Illinois on Feb. 13. Junior Justin Stommes has been Eastern Kentucky's most consistent player in OVC road games, averaging 12.8 ppg while shooting 54.8 percent from the floor and 42.1 percent from three-point range. Stommes was held to six points in the last meeting against EIU. Eastern Illinois (18-11, 11-7 OVC) is the hottest team in the OVC as the Panthers have won seven straight games. EIU is hosting its first OVC tournament game since 2001. Eastern Illinois held off Tennessee State on Saturday, 66-61, to clinch a top four seed in the tourney. Guard Tyler Laser leads the team in scoring at 14.1 ppg while center Ousmane Cisse averages a team-high 6.7 rpg.
