Seattle University Men's Basketball Pulls Out 90-88 Victory Over San Jose State - Senior guard Taylor Olson (Seattle, Wash.) hit a three-pointer from the right corner with 5.4 seconds left in the second half to give Seattle University a 90-88 victory over San Jose State Monday night at the Event Center. The final two minutes were a seesaw battle, starting with a free throw by Charles Garcia (Los Angeles, Calif.) with 1:45 left to give SeattleU an 85-84 lead. Adrian Oliver made two free throws to give the Spartans a one-point advantage, followed by empty possessions for each team. (via Seattle)

Chattanooga Claims 78-73 Win Over Davidson in Home Finale - On senior night at McKenzie Arena Monday night, the Chattanooga men's basketball team's lone senior, Ty Patterson, combined with Ricky Taylor to score 42 points and lead the Mocs to a 78-73 win over Davidson.  The Mocs improve to 14-15 and 6-10 in the Southern Conference North Division with the win, while Davidson falls to 14-14 and 9-7 in the South. Men's Basketball Clinches Top Seed with 58-54 Win at Elon - On a night where neither team shot the ball well, Appalachian State University men's basketball sank three free throws when it counted to ice a 58-54 win at Elon on Monday. The win clinched the Southern Conference North's top seed for next month's tournament as well as no less than a share of the division title. The Mountaineers' (18-11, 11-5 SoCon) string of 16-straight games with a 40 percent field goal percentage came to an end, but a gritty effort and a 27-11 second-half rebound margin proved to be the difference as ASU won its sixth game in the last seven outings. Hofstra Travels to CAA-leading Northeastern Tuesday Night - The Hofstra Men's Basketball team will put its four-game win streak to the test when it travels to Colonial Athletic Association co-leader Northeastern on Tuesday night for a 9 p.m. contest on ESPNU. Hofstra comes into the game with a 16-13 overall record and an 8-8 mark in the Colonial Athletic Association as it enters the final week of the regular season. The Pride has won four straight and seven of its last eight, with the only loss in that span coming to Northeastern at home on Feb. 6. (via Hofstra)
