SC State Hands Morgan State First League Loss 71-68 - South Carolina State built a twelve-point lead with 7:46 to play and hung on to hand Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference leader Morgan State its first league loss,  71-68, at Hill Field House Monday evening before a national ESPNU audience. The Bulldogs, who were coming off one of their most lackluster performances - a 79-61 loss at Coppin State Saturday - improved to 14-9 on the season and climbed to 8-4 in the MEAC with the win, which avenged an earlier 72-67 loss at Orangeburg. Men's hoops defeats Kennesaw State 71-64; moves back into A-Sun first-place tie - Campbell (16-9, 11-5) moved into a tie for first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference with Belmont and Jacksonville and matched its school record for league victories since joining the A-Sun in 1994-95. Kyle Vejraska (13) and Preston Dodson (10) came off the bench to hit double-digits. Miles Taylor added 10, while Lorne Merthie finished with 9, including a triple from the left corner with 1:17 to go that pushed CU's lead to 69-60 and capped a late 10-2 run. (via Campbell)
