PLEASANT, Mich. - Steve McNees scored 16 points, making every shot he attempted from the field and the line, and Akron finished on a 12-3 run to overtake Central Michigan 56-52 on Tuesday in a Mid-American Conference men's basketball game at Rose Arena. McNees, who scored 13 points after halftime, made all four of his shots from the field, each from 3-point distance, and all four free throws to lead the Zips (18-7, 8-3), who won their third straight and fifth in six games.
