MMBOD Dec 19: Kevin Hamilton - Holy CrossWhen Morihei Ueshiba, a/k/a O Sensei, developed the martial art of aikido to neutralize and eliminate great size advantages. Using throws and locks and flowing movement, a little guy can use the energy of a larger opponent against himself and emerge victorious from a battle. Yesterday afternoon, the guard-rich, forward-not-so-rich Holy Cross Crusaders used basketball aikido to defeat Chattanooga, to advance in the semi-prestigious San Juan Shootout. By turning the Mocs' big-man Charles Anderson towards self-defeat (he played only 13 minutes due to massive foul trouble), HC was able to free up the floor, which allowed K-Ham get his Kenjutsu on. The 'Sader Samurai filleted the Chattanooga backcourt in the second half, scoring 10 points during a 15-4 run and finishing with a career-high 38. That's some serious ki. |
